The Selection by Keira Cass

Review:
America Singer is a 5. That's good, but not good enough. This world is set into 8 casts. Ones: The royals. Twos to Threes are the rich people who can afford nice clothes and jewellery. Fours and fives are alright, they struggle. six to eight, they are slaves to everyone else. That is where most people die! They have no money and one pair of clothes. People are put into a cast when they are born. Their ancestors put them where they are today. America Singer doesn't want to be apart of the Selection, she doesn't want to fight for the heart of the Prince, but when her name is called she finds herself being taken to the castle and put there for the next couple of months. He will choice one but does America want to be chosen? Follow America Singer as she starts falling for the Prince, Maxon, who is slowly stealing her heart, and the boy from Cast 6 who is trying to win her back!


My Opinion:
This book is amazing! I loved it so much! I originally got it because it was $9.00 at The Warehouse but when I picked it up, I found that I couldn't put it down! It is a quick read and you will enjoy the time you took to read it. I enjoyed The selection (and it's sequel) because the way it was written was amazing. I loved America's point of view! I got a great look into how she was living and how she felt. I love America as a Character. She is strong, willing to sacrifice everything for her family and friends. She stands up for what she believes in and does what's right to help others around her. You will fall in love with America very early on in the book.  The selection is a great take on a Prince and Princess happy ever after and I love it! Keira Cass is an amazing author and The selection is amazing!

I have also read the sequel (The elite). There is a third book (The one) and a fourth book set 20 years later (The Heir). She is currently writing the last book in this series  which is unnamed!

I would say that maybe this is a good book for year 7/8's! Sorry year 6's! Maybe next year!
