Ideas for Journal Writing

IDEAS FOR JOURNAL WRITING: Listed are some specific ideas to write about. Most of them will mean doing some research and planning your ideas. Plan on spending at least 4 sessions on one piece of writing.

Explanation:

Rainforest's. Stream ecosystems. Ocean Ecosystems. The water cycle. A food web. How to decrease the amount of stuff you buy. Planned and perceived obsolescence.  Microbeads. An endangered NZ species. Deforestation. Global warming.

Letters:

• A letter to a family member telling them about our theme of humans impact on ecosystems. Explain the different workshops you have attended and what you learnt.
• A letter to the editor of a newspaper about the amount of rubbish people throw away
• letter to the Prime Minister about why water bottles should be banned in NZ

Arguments:

• Why not to use plastic water bottles
• The importance of recycling
• The negatives of recycling
• Why rainforest's are so important
• Being a vegetarian
• Against testing products on Animals/ for testing products on Animals
• Factory farming of chickens
